Deanna Bassette, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, FMACP

Deanna's journey towards becoming a beacon of holistic health began with her own battle with irritable bowel disease during her teenage years. Faced with a barrage of medications and treatments that offered little relief and even less understanding of the root cause of her condition, she found herself frustrated and disheartened. Despite her efforts to advocate for herself and explore alternative approaches to health, she often felt dismissed by conventional medicine.

Determined to find a better way, Deanna turned to functional medicine at the encouragement of her parents. Through a holistic approach that prioritized identifying and addressing the root cause of her illness, she discovered a new path to healing—one that empowered her to take control of her health and live a life free from the constraints of chronic illness. This transformative experience ignited her passion for functional medicine and set her on a path to empower others in their own healing journeys.

Armed with a newfound sense of purpose, Deanna pursued her academic aspirations with unwavering determination. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Southern Illinois University in 2008, laying the foundation for her future endeavors in healthcare. Building upon this foundation, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2015, embarking on a career as a registered nurse specializing in neurology and telemetry before transitioning to a cardiothoracic surgery floor.

Despite finding fulfillment in her role as a nurse, Deanna felt a sense of incompleteness in her ability to fully address the holistic needs of her patients within the confines of traditional healthcare. Determined to bridge this gap, she pursued further education, earning her Master of Science in Family Nurse Practice from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2020. Armed with a deeper understanding of healthcare delivery, Deanna embarked on a mission to integrate functional medicine into her practice, becoming certified in Functional Medicine to better serve her patients.

Today, Deanna Bassette stands at the forefront of holistic healthcare, dedicated to providing hope and solutions to those who have felt unheard or dismissed by conventional medicine. Through personalized care, tailored lifestyle recommendations, and a commitment to addressing the root cause of illness, she empowers her patients to take control of their health and reclaim their vitality. Her journey from patient to practitioner serves as a beacon of inspiration, reminding us all of the transformative power of functional medicine and the resilience of the human spirit.
